Roofing
There are several different types of roofing material that we work with, each one described in detail below. Every roof price includes material cost, labor cost, removal and replacement cost, and dump fees but every price is guaranteed to be the lowest in the area.
Asphalt Shingles
These are the most popular for roofing because of their low cost, endurance, and ease of installation. They do not provide as much insullation and have a shorter lifespan than other materials but they are useful if the goal is to save money and replace the whole roof. We also patch places on roofs where the shingles have been damaged if the rest of the roof is in good shape or the cost of replacing the whole roof is too much for the budget. Pricing for asphalt shingles is determined by how many bundles are needed for the roof and what type, color, and texture is wanted. Asphalt shingles have a lifespan of 15 to 30 years depending on environmental factors and climate. Cost of labor depend on the slope of the roof. For example, a 2"-7" pitch roof would be $20 per square while a 8"-12" pitch would be $30 per square.
Metal
Metal roofs are available in aluminum, copper, and stainless steel and are the coolest material, temperature-wise, to use on a roof. They also have a high percentage of recycled content which, when combined with being energy efficient, makes metal one of the greenest materials to use in roofing. They offer high durability and due to its light nature, it is very resistant to adverse nature. The lifespan of metal on a roof is about 50 years, once again depending on climate and environmental factors. Labor cost on a metal roof is $75 per square.
Rubber
Rubber roofs are most often seen on low or flat-sloped roofs and is usually used in roof replacement. It's a very durable and flexible material to use on a roof and is usually put on over the existing roof. Rubber is also a good insulator so it is also useful in keeping heat or cold out of the house. While being more expensive than shingles, it lasts longer with a lifespan of 30-40 years. Labor cost on a rubber roof is determined based on the roof slope and height.
Wood Shingles and Shakes
Wood shingles and shakes come in a variety of wood types including cedar, pine, and redwood with cedar being the most costly type. While being a natural alternative to asphalt shingles, wood shingles and shakes only have Class C fire ratings or below so it's best to check the building codes to determine whether this would be a safe alternative. There are some wood shingles and shakes that come with a Class A fire rating but they are more costly. The difference between wood shingles and wood shakes is just that wood shingles are cut by maching and wood shakes are cut by hand and have a rougher texture. Wood shingles and shakes have a 30 to 50 year lifespan because of their tendency to rot, split, and mold. Labor cost of wood shakes or shingles would be $75 per square.
